A few weeks ago, Dave took Abby and Makenna to a hayride for Makenna's school. Makenna didn't wear her hug machine there and fell asleep on the way home. When I got home a little later, Makenna sleepily walked down the stairs... "Hi, Mommy. :)"
After asking if she had a good time and what her favorite part of the evening was, I told her we needed to put her hug machine on. Tears. She never cries or argues about putting her brace on; but tonight she was tired ( well, actually half asleep). It pulled on my heart strings, but I knew we needed to put it on. Night time is the most important time to have it on.
As I picked her up and explained, once more, that we needed to put it on, she looked up at me and said,
"If I had one wish, I wish I never had a hug machine."
Me too, baby. Me too.
