This year, for Makenna's school pictures I sent her to school without her brace one ~ simply because I had the luxury for that to be an option. I picked out a really cute striped dress that buttons down the back. On the way to school, she kept wiggling in her carseat, grumbling about something hurting her.
When I turned to ask her what was the matter, she frustratedly said, "ugh... you put this dress on wrong...." as she continued to wiggle.
It was the buttons on the back of the dress. At that moment I realized, she's never felt anything like that on her back - well not that she can remember. From the time she was 2-1/2, she's had a soft layer of cotton between her skin and whatever else touched it. She's never felt the sensation of buttons on your back, or a zipper...
